Recently had 16 hour and 11 hour Amtrak train travel delays and extremely poor customer service - anybody else? Anyone complained to the company and received good results? If so, how? Thanks!

Amtrak can be bad when delays occur. When I was young we were taking a trip via amtrak and the delay was many hours. We ended up taking a charter bus. I donot know who paid for it (sorry was to little to remmerber those details).

But 6 years ago we took a trip from Houston to LA then onto Portland, OR. And had a great trip, great service and no delays. I do enjoy traveling by train, if you have the time and are going somewhere they service.

I had a very bad experience on the Chicago to DC train! We were delayed over six hours! The service on the train was horrible and the service afterwards was also horrible. Complaining to the company resulted in nothing! THey said that they don't own the tracks therefore there is always unexcepted delays. Then don't say we wil be there at 11 AM when we the train is usaully delayed at least two hours, say 1 PM!

I have not since rode with Amtrak. I paid more for a plane ticket and had a much better experience for the same trip!

not went i rode it. But i slept the whole way (nyc to chicago) so it wasnt bad at all
