She misssed a lot of school days toward the end of the year and she recently told me that she has been sleeping with her boyfriend. We are only in the 8th grade and a lot of people have been telling me that she is pregnant. When I asked her about she totally blew me off. Should I talk to her parents?? I don't want to be a snitch or get her in trouble. She is my friend and I just don't want her to throw away her future by having a kid so early. She picks with me cause my boyfriend and I aren't having sex. I told her if she's pregnant she better tell her mom and dad or I will. Do you think I'm wrong???

Look out for the best interests of your friend. Don't go behind her back--she'll tell you whatever she needs to tell you when she's ready to. And don't tell her parents before she does--that's a recipe for disaster and can make her life a living hell! Support your friend through whatever she's going through and try talking to her again some.

Well you aren't wrong to direct her to talk to her parents. But you're also right about getting in the middle of it. If you tell her parents, and she isn't, then you're going to lose a friend. Does she have an older sister? Some one older that she trusts that maybe she can confide in? It seems that she doesn't want to tell even you, so maybe she's not ready to deal with it. Do you have a parent or an older sibling that you trust to not say anything? Maybe a school counselor or a teacher? She needs you as a friend so you should sit her down and tell her how you feel. You're a caring friend, and try to present it as helpful and not judgemental.

You should tell your school counselor. They will keep your name private. They will help her out and they will be caring and kind to her.
