how can anyone be a liberal or democrat?

Question

how can any kids born today be a liberal or democrat?
knowing how the world is today. knowing that liberals and democrats will not secure the country. knowing that the republicans are stopping attacks left and right. and the democrats would have allowed so many attacks to come through.

just wondering how anyone could be one?

Right... except for the fact that Republican policies have engendered hatred around the world, increasing terror attacks since 2003, and causing over 2,500 American deaths while breeding thousands of new enemies of the U.S.... The Republicans keep us real safe... That's why they caved to special interest groups and blocked passage of the Safe Skies CArgo Inspection Act (introdcued by a Democrat -a Massachusetts Democrat) that would have -gasp- required the inspection of 100% of cargo transported on passenger aircraft in the U.S. by 2008. As it is, under Republican policies - less than 5% of cargo is scanned for radioactive material. And how about our ports? The less said there the better. Bush and his cronies have absolutely zero interest in keeping the country safe - they only stand to benefit from increased violence and fear.

Liberals and democrats are one in the same just as conservatives and Republicans are the same.

Like it or not, we have a two party system. Though I think it would be interesting if we could get a couple more parties in the politcal arena. That might be the only way to make any real change to government, short of term limits.

To kobacker: Since you claim to be a 9-11 survivor I know that you'll have a fit that someone will actually question your authority on this but I'll try. When the attack happened Bush was in office for 9 months. Clinton was in office for the previous 8 years. It took way more than 9 months for the terrorists to plan and execute this attack. In fact, they came to this country during the Clinton administration. Also, the bombings happened during the Clinton administration. It's one thing to be anti-Republican but let's at least look at the facts.

Wow, we are engendering hatred around the world huh? So tell me Mr. Smartguy what was 9/11?... a love tap? So whats your plan Mr. Smartguy? Somehow or another this 'big dummy' Bush has figured out a way to take the war on terror from being planes crashing into our buildings killing innocent civilians, to being terrorists from all over the world just begging to come over to Iraq to let our military kill them. Sounds like a good plan to me. Best defense is a good offense.

All yes the old we need 100% inspections mantra, but if they actually did do that, you lib's would be the first ones out there screaming, "Invasion of my privacy!". Not to mention you would all be crying about delays and why is there a $150 security charge added on every plane ticket purchased.

How many things do you think they just might be doing, that you don't know about? I'm a 9-11 World Trade Center survivor and I know that the attack happened with a Republican in the White House--who was warned a month earlier that an attack was going to happen. This attack happened to a site that was previously attacked by militants in 1993. In addition, he just dramatically reduced Homeland Security funding for this nations two prime targets--NYC and Washington. As an eyewitness to this nations greatest terrorist attack I do not agree with your analysis.
