The key word here is "not enough memory". Two things (and, yes, I too am still running SE on this computer, but XP on the one up-stairs) 1- you need AT least 512 megs of ram 2- dbl clk "my computer" r-clk on your C drive and clk properties. If you have less than 1.7 gigs of free space on it you will have stack pointer errors due not enough virtual ram on your C drive. You can live with 256 as worst case IF you go off line, re-boot and come back on every hour or so (frees up a bunch of room again) and you do need to clean up your root drive (or only drive, I have mine partitioned with about 5 gigs for drive C) C drive needs at least 1.7 gigs of free space to run SE and works quite well if you can free up 2 gigs or more.

first things first....as u know Microsoft will no longer support win98se ...now ur problem ..thinking u need to repair Ur IE6...if u receive a DNS error when page crashes or any error of this sort there is a great possibility u have lost a command file in IE6 is reason for repair but if u are using win98se re-load IE6....is only recourse u have...well not if u want to run a fresh copy of 98 ...but re-load IE6

It most likely happens because you are using a computer with an operating system from 7 years ago. Many sites have switched from scripting and programs that ran easily on Windows 98 to more complex systems since the bulk of their users run more advanced operating systems. It sounds as though your computer needs to be upgraded as sites are designed to run on newer systems. If you don't want to upgrade, I'd suggest trying an alternate browser (firefox perhaps) and see how that works for you. Or simply don't visit those sites.

You might need to bump up the virtual memory size on your pc. You need to know how much RAM you have and multiply that by 1.5 in the performance options dialog box, under system properties. Put that number in both the initial size and maximum size text boxes and then press set and it should take effect.

does this happen if you use another browser, such as firefox? What are the specs on your computer system?
