It's been known for a long time that JK Rowling has had the final chapter of the final book written since about 1990. What she said on the British 'Richard & Judy' talk show is that she has recently slightly revised that final chapter. She said that one character she had killed is now going to live after all, and two characters are now going to die instead of live. I personally think that these are minor characters. JKR has had this whole series-- and the final chapter-- planned out for so long that she's not going to go make huge changes now. But just because one character got a reprieve and two characters are now going to die, this doesn't mean that there aren't more characters who are going to die. JKR just mentioned the ones whose fates have changed.
On the same talk show, Richard (one of the hosts of the show) brought up the fact that many people are speculating whether JKR will kill off Harry himself. Of course, JKR didn't say whether she would or not, but she did say that one benefit for her to kill of Harry would be that no other authors would be able to write sequels after she's gone; she will end the story with the 7th book and a death for Harry would guarantee that the story would end with her. Now, it's all over the news that "OMG Harry might DIE!" which is really stupid because news broadcasters are talking about it like it's the first time the idea of Harry dying has come up, but really the there's been specualtion for a long time and JKR really didn't reveal any more either way about Harry's death.
No one but JKR knows who will die in the final book. All we can do until book 7 comes out is analyze, think, discuss, and speculate. :)

As much as I don't like it, I think it is totally possible that J.K. Rowling might kill off Harry. If you remember the article, she said that there is a good side to killing off your main character. When she is dead and gone, no one will be able to come back and write Harry because he already died; it would be satisfactory to know that no one will come back and take over you masterpiece.
Here is a list of people besides Harry that I think might perish.
Ron: Besides being Harry's best mate, we haven't really seen him prove himself in times of danger and battle. He showed his strengths back in Book 1 when during the giant chess match during the hunt for the Philosopher's Stone. There is a theory that Ron will sacrifice himself for Harry in the final match against Voldemort.
Pettigrew: Do I have to explain it? Let's see... He betrayed the Potters, he helped Voldemort get his body back, and is an all-around bad guy. I think it's time to go, and that the life-debt that he has to Harry will be involved somehow.
Draco: I think that apart from being "bad", Draco is really a tragic character. His family are Death Eaters. He's got a lot to live up to. I got the kind of feeling that he was forced in the Book 6 to serve Voldemort. All the stress he underwent, the frustration, the anxiety... I mean, the poor boy was misguided. Remember that he is only about 17. People can make horrible mistakes when they are at that age. Unfortunately in Draco's case, it might cost him his life. He's in too deep.
Professor Trelawney: I think there is a possibility of her death in Book 7. She's always predicting how people will die, and seeing strange, dark omens everywhere. I think that is a kind of subtle foreshadowing. She sees death everywhere, why can't it be hers? I just wonder how this would play out, and how important it would be to the actual plot.
Percy: Hmm... Anyone sure which side he is really on?
Who will get a reprieve? I have an inkling that it is one of the Dursleys.... or Snape.

No one except Jo (JK Rowling) knows for sure. And if you have read articles carefully, 2 'extra' characters are being killed off than the original plan.
I have a feeling that these two are going to be Harry and Ginny...
As Dumbledore once said... Death is nothing but the next big adventure....

Well we know it can't be Dumbledore because he was already killed off in the last book. My guess would have to be Ron and Severus.
