Who cares if they get a different coach. They dont have enough talent, no matter how many people they turn into naturalized citizens. Landon Donovan predicted that they would win the world cup. that idiot. He was the most overrated player of the world cup. I dont think he can play in our league we have of over 30 players..

I, too am American. So you cannot say that the USA as a whole does not take the sport serious. I know a lot of kids who only play soccer. They train all year just to play soccer. So I don't believe that the US as a whole is not serious about soccer.
Yes it is not the most popular sport, but give it time. I'm sure some day in the future, USA can be a tough team when it comes to the World Cup.

The US team is going through a "transition period". New young talent vs OLD talent.
Their coach is not the best of tacticians around but he is familiar with the team which is a plus. I personally think he should be fired because he relies too much on OLD players to carry the team when focus should be placed on the future of the game like the squads of Germany and Switzerland which both had an impressive showing so far regardless of the Swiss loss.
Team USA has the potential to be a powerhouse but homegrown talent is not allowed to gain experience and that is wrong.

I have to agree with the first poster, Americans still do not take soccer serious. A majority of Americans still think it is a sissy sport. I have seen comments such as all the do is pass the ball around, or different attempts at scoring, low scoring ect...
All poor excuse by those who do not understand or do not appreciate soccer.
When USA played against Ghana, you could see that Ghana had the passion and desire to play their best. USA seemed to be playing for the sake of playing, they had no desire, no passion, nothing....
Yes I am an American, i support my souontry but soccer is not an American sport. USA should just not bother playing a sport that they are not serious about playing or take serious as a sport

The US is a joke in soccer. They got the ranking of 5 by luck. The problem is US hasnt embraced soccer to its fullest potential. On CNN it says 7/10 Americans doesn't even know a professional soccer team
