Reflexology sounds like a good idea. I got a spa with therapeutic jets for the back. I haven't had lower back pain since I use it regularly. It also relieves my whiplash.

Depends on what is causing your sciatica. I had bulging disc that was causing sciatica and didin't realize it was my disc causing the problem. Definetly seek a chiropractor or neurologist. Other than that I found alternating hot and cold (20 min on 20 min off) on lower back, massages, exercise, sleeping with pillow between the knees or underneath them if lying on back. Stretches and then of course there is always meds! Goodluck

Acupuncture "may" help. It is certainly worth a try. Deep tissue massage (as opposed to reflexology) will definitely help. Make a point of stretching everyday to keep your muscles from tightening up even more. Try taking Emergen-C with MSM. It can be very helpful. It is VERY important to keep your weight down. Watch what you eat and exercise...yes EXERCISE! Walking, water exercises, biking are all good for people with back problems.
Surgery should definitely be your LAST resort. While it can be helpful, it doesn't always work and I have seen many cases of the problem being worsened.

Have you been diagnosed with sciatica? Sometimes you can be diagnosed because you have symptoms and it can be something else.
Try going to a massage therapist who works with trigger points and have them work on your pirifomis muscle. It is a muscle in your glutes that lies right over the sciatic muscle and often gets very tight. With a release of that muscle, sciatica symptoms often will go away.

I cured my Sciatica by drinking copious amounts of distilled water. Only the distilled worked. I asked my chiropractor why it worked and he guessed that it flushed my adrenals, but wasn't sure what the connection was beyond that. I didn't care since the pain went away.

Go for a manual one-time treatment called Atlasprofilax to really get rid of the problem - it just will take some weeks until your body has healed itself.
The treatment is available in California and Europe, costing approx. 220 dollars. It's really worth travelling far - own experience. :-)

Mine was awful after my third daughter was born and it lasted for 5 years. After my last baby was born, it went away on its own. I don't know what changed, but I never did any treatment other than taking painkillers for a short time. It rarely bothers me now. Good luck. I hope at least you feel hopeful that it can go away on its own.
