Be careful you don't want to have a problem in case of an emergency, so I would not use heavy furniture. An easier thing to get privacy would be to get a 2 dollar door stop from the hardware store. Or an old Sneaker under the lip of the door, The rubber on the bottom of the sneaker should create enough friction to stop the door from opening.

hmm best way is to change the Door Handle to a locking type- quick fix, use a chair tilted with the back under the handle, use a Door stopper wedge, under the door-

A wooden wedge stuffed under the door works real well as long as you don't get it too stuck. Remember-the more pressure you apply to a wedge,the better it holds.

We always used a butter knife slid into the trim. Just make sure nobody will try and force the door or the trim may pop off, pissing off mom and Dad!

wedge something under your door handle, a chair works perfectly, you just need to be sure that it is taller than handle when sitting flat

a wad of paper folded up put in door when u shut it . if i still opens easy, wad the paper thicker.

i usually put my dresser up againt it when i want some privacy. anything big and heavy would work unless you have slippery floors
