A/C went out on 96 Chry. Concorde (Dodge product). My regular mechanic told me I needed a new compressor,so I lokked under "used car parts" web & immediately got about 50 responses. I got one with a 30 day warranty for $40 +15 S&H. What a deal. I had another guy look @ it that is a certified dealer mechanic. He told me it was a computer chip in the dash part that makes the fan blow& kick in,so he replaced mine with a salvage one, added Freon and replaced "low pressure switch" I still am keeping the compressor for that price just in case I need it. Good luck.It may be something other than compressor.

Mine has the same problem. My bf is a mechanic and he says it's a $600 fix...just for parts...not including labor. He says Dodge Dakota's are really bad for their ac's and he says it's not worth the money because it won't stay fixed. So....I don't know what to tell you. Get a new truck
