Need a little more info- size, other colors or designs, etc.

It is certainly a soft-shelled turtle.

They can grow to be quite large. I've seen some as big as snappers, and most of them are just as mean. A very large one (the biggest one I've seen was about 1 1/2 or 2 feet in diameter) might be able to remove a finger.

Handle with care. They are very, very fast.

They are also very messy to keep as pets.

I don't think they taste good at all.

Sounds like a Logger-head or "snapper" turtle. Be very careful not to have it bite you. The jaw pressure alone from an adult "snapper" turtle can sheer break bone--you can lose a finger(s) or toe(s); I've seen it happen.
