I am South African but now live in New Zealand, I would love to go to SA in 2010 for the World Cup but I am little nervous as to how South Africa is going to cope?? The rugby world cup held there in 1995 will be a picnic compared to the football world cup!!

South Africa has the resources to host the World cup in the plainest sense but obviously it won't be of the same quality as germany or any other first world country. It will be worthwhile IF the government starts using common sense and stops spending millions on changing street names and city names and ploughs that money into the many new stadiums that need to be built or the others that need to be refurbished.

They wouldn't want to embarass themselves, so I believe they'll try their best to pull it off nicely. Every country would do the same.

However, I didn't even know that South Africa is into football (soccer) at all. Since when?

I hope everything goes ok but SA is very dangerous, specially in the capital but they can do it.
