They'll lose next round anyway. If they can be tested by us, they are screwed next round.
I'll sleep better when they are out. We'll party in Australia all week (more so than if we won).

The stereotype doesn't bother me MATE! As I know and all Australians know you are Italian and therefore full of it. You can't help it. Its the way you were born.

Italy won, we lost. If the referee had done his job properly, Australia wouldn't be out of the competition.
What is with all the bad calls? It isn't targeted at anyone in particular there have been mistakes in most games.
On the world stage this is ludicrous.

I am an Italy fan and always will be and today was a tough game for Italy! I love Aussies, and yes they played a really good game.. from start to finish! I know the Aussies really played with their hearts and gave everything they had to prove to the world that after 4 years of training : AUSTRALIA IS AMAZING!
I don't think Italy was all that good and yes since the beginning of the fifa tournament, they have been very lucky! I don't know what it is, they just can't seem to step up! Don't get me wrong, I don't think that they can't do it, I know they can.. I mean think of all their star players and the quality they have as a team, great defense (AMAZING DEFENSE!!) and their game strategies are excellent... From a strategic point of view, Italy deserved to win, I mean Materazzi got out of the game pretty early on! Taking out a player of ones team can f*ck up a lot and yeah I'm not saying you don't know that, but the Italians managed pretty well without him! Buffon stopped quite a few shots and at one point the Italians were really becoming offensive! But now looking at it from another point of view, maybe the Aussies did play a better game, they were more aggressive, had a bigger percentage of the ball possession... So even if the Italians want to get as far as they can, it probably can't compare to the willingness and passion of the Aussies! Basically it was luck that saved the Italians, thanks to Totti...
It is sad for the Aussies, I don't doubt it for one second. And honestly, it doesn't give all that much to the Italians to celebrate about... The Aussies gave Brazil a hard time and they did the same today for Italy. I do believe the penalty shot was rightly awarded then again, that's just my opinion. It wasn't fake. The Italian players aren't very tough and may seem like they act a lot, but I can't be the judge of that....... Physically, Australia is way tougher and I was expecting a game that would be much more physical! So anyways this was just my opinion, you have yours... Now we just have to move on with this, live with it.. And you just have to remember that the Aussies were very good and be proud of that! And the Italians will have to live with the fact that they have been really lucky and that if they keep on playing the way that they do, they will get beaten easily.. Probably not by Ukraine, but they won't have any chances after that... ( unfortunately)

OK over with all the hatred its time to listen to someone neutral. Im from INDIA.
1 Let me be very clear it was not a penalty, but that is not a fault of the italians. italians , spanish, french all these players have always had the tendency to go for penalties, its their game like it or not. why blame them only ? anyone remember Rivaldo against Turkey in 2002 group league, he faked to get a penalty. Brazilians do it too !!! It was the refs fault why blame italy ?
2 Aussies played very very well, but they have to accept the fact that their finishing was pooor , & they created very little despite having a man advantage. They never looked like scoring & winning the match. On the contrary Italy had better openings.
3 Ref was poor , but again Materazzi's red card was harsh, 11 against 11 would have been a different game.
4 Italy did defend very well, give them credit for that.

I am sure they can and will. Reading through comments this morning on here, it is becoming quite clear that 90% of the Italian fans are very cocky and do not know how to be gracious winners. They have thrown all sorts of insults and accusations at the Aussie boys and fans on here today.Quite sad to think that winning at any cost has become a perfected art. They won, yes and defended faultlessly, but just are not generous in appreciating performances other than their own. I am not one that usually comments on other people as such, but I am a little over their inability to see the game for what it was. As long as they win, that's what matters, not how it happens. I m proud that I can say winning is great but how you play the game is what you can be proud of. They will not dive and fake their way through for ever. I was very disappointed to see my next favourite team resort to that. And do not kid yourself, those tactics are resorted to in desperation. Yep they will live with it.

i dont know. they should think about fair play. they just steal the match and that's all. they'll lose anyway. but if Kewel played this match could be Australia's
I'm a Turk in Australia. I love Australia because we play good. But there are many teams like Italy so Australia can not do anything between these teams

i feel very bad for the downunder team, as i would have loved to see them in the quarterfinals... underdog teams always spice up a world cup!!
too bad they had to play against italy - as an italian, of course i was for italy and i'm more than happy that tottigol has re-established his reputation as a top-scorer with a killer-instinct - although even to me it wasn't a penalty-worth foul at that stage of the match...anyways as per the rules it was a definate foul - even if no body-contact was involved - as interfering a player even by laying down and doing nothing else is still a foul!
also, it was very interesting to follow the news: austrian (the country with NO kangaroos, situated in europe - this is for the usa-guys, lol) news reported that it was no foul, german news reported that the referee acted correctly, italian news was for the referee decision of course, swiss and english news said it was a foul as well (sources: austrian, german, italian, swiss television and eurosports channel).
now, to answer your very rude question, i have to watch out not to lose my temper, mate!!
i guess, the players and their fans do very well - as aussies would have done ... even though they are not very well known for 'stealing' like we italians are, but for hunting and maybe fu**ing kangas in the bush - how do you like that stereotype, mate?!?!
i'd luv to see you unfair guys party if italy lost against the ukraine, maybe you might want to dance to a famous italian song: ciao ciao bambina (you might know it, it's from the 1960s). here are my lyrics for you:
"ciao ciao australia, you were a failure...."
FORZA ITALIA!!!!!!!!!!!FORZA TOTTI!!!!!!!FORZA BUFFON!!!!

Please there were bad calls made on both sides. Australia was diving all over the plays, but it was Italy who got the red card for something so stupid. You should ask how the refs live with themselves, not the Italians. How did they steal the game? Did they make the call? No but they took it, and I'll take that win.

Thank you Juventine for making sense. I really don't know why people love to hate the italians. Why is it that when we win it has to be something the Italians did wrong. I am sick of all the hatred. Viva Italia!!!

You know Matthew D you're as pathetic as a human being can get.I've never experienced a person having such hatred towards a country that you don't know nothing about. The Italians can live with themselves because they deserved to win and we're having the time of our lives celebrating...My question to you is, can you live with yourself for being such a pathetic loser??? Forza Italia

I doubt very much the Italians will give it a second thought. All they care about is winning. But some how I can't see them winning against Brazil or Argentina and then we will see how they handle that
