WHy are refferees giving out so many yellow cards this year? They should be fired!

because fifa put in a lot of new rules and the refs are being evaluated for all their games. because of that the refs are afraid and are just giving stupid calls and cards everywhere. but now theyre getting better, probably because someone told them they were being retarded.

Because they are nitwits. Think Sepp Blatter should take a lot of the blame as well for confusing not only the refs but the whole world with FIFAs myriad of new rules especially as relates to yellow card offences

fifa had said to them to give out more cards and be more strict, but now the president of fifa has understood what misunderstandings the refs have made, especially in the round of 16. the russian ref for portugal vs. netherlands was lame. he gave out too many cards for no reason, and fifa said the ref deserved a card himself. all the referees are now under view by fifa, so now they probably wont give out too many cards

Everyone has laws that they are supposed to obey in life, work, and games. Those Laws can be and often are changed with short notice, but everyone is still expected to follow those laws. Soccer is no different. The problem is, the players are not smart enough to alter their playing style to assimilate to the Laws of the Game that FIFA has set forth. You cannot blame a referee for doing what their boss has told them to do.

Its really stupid, i am so mad myself, Ref's are beging evaluated by FIFA on their respective games, and as usual FIFA introduced strict rules, but recently due to the surge of the yellow cars being issued, many coaches from differen countries complained and this is changing, but have you noticed (example the portugal and netherlands gane) players are getting very agressive...

Fifa told them to have "Tolerance Zero" but that backfired because it is out of control.
