Get another job young lady.
I work in IT and have no knowledge of computers whatsoever and in a 12 hour shift do about 2 hours work, for which I simply follow the instructions in a manual.
Bizarre, but true.
And the best bit?
I'm so good at it I was given a promotion today (well, last night as I work nights).
Took me 20 years to find this job, I'm 36 now, but fcuk it was worth the wait.

1: Spend time with the phone tilted near your ear (but not actually calling anyone)
2: Bang your keyboard really loudly every 20 minutes or so
3: Sigh loadly as tho you are inundauted with work.
4: Move pieces of pages rapidly around your desk

Do something productive, even if you don't have any of your own work to do, that shouldn't stop you from doing other things related to your job that could help you become more efficient at your job. If you are doing something company related, and you are busy doing it (even if it isn't exactly in your scope of work), you will appear busy at work.

well check to see if your boss keeps net records. if they do u need to get sneaky.
aprt from that as long as you are looking at the screen typing they'll be happy.
do email. write a novle. play solitare. mesage other people in the office just to annoy them.

Why don't you go home? I'm sure your boss won't mind! Tell him/her that you have other things to do. I'm sure s/he'd understand . . . of course, s/he may not want you back tomorrow but then you can always get another job!
