My teen daughter is suffering from stretch marks on her upper thighs. I never had them. She's not overweight. (She's only a Jr. size 9)
What can I do ?? Any home remedies that actually work?

There is no such thing as having stretch mark removal. I seen this on t.v. the other day on a health show. The only way to get rid of them would be to see a doctor and I only think they can get rid of them so much. You can rub lotion on the places that are prone to getting stretch marks and it will help reduce the color of the ones already there and will help prevent getting them larger. Theres some lotions and stuff at the stores but I heard they didn't work .. and this is coming from doctors on tv so I am sure they are right.

Medical science has yet to find the right formulation to vanish unwanted stretch marks,we can only minimize them. Vitamin E, Cocoa Butter and Lanolin helps lighten them up. Make sure to keep your daughters skin elastic by using cocoa butter or Vitamin E. As she grows, her skin will stretch and chances are if she's thin and her skin is firm, when it stretch and it will leave a mark. Apply this on her thighs, tummy and breast, where stretching will occur. Make sure she uses a stretch mark prevention cream (there is a good one made by Biotherm for pregnant), when she got married and ready for a baby.
Make sure she is ready to use

Stretch marks happen when the body increases in size faster than the skin can adapt. Rubbing oil into the skin when it is anticipated that stretch marks will occur such as with pregnancy
will help. Once the stretch marks are there nothing can be done. They will get less noticeable over time.

I was never overweight, just a pudgy kid- and I have had stretch marks since the age of 10. I have them all over my boobs and a few small ones on my hips. It could be that she developed fast, or grew fast. I don't know that anything helps really. They have tons of over the counter creams that claim to work, but they only slightly diminish the appearance, if even that. Cocoa butter works for some people, but again... nothing can really get rid of them sadly unless you spend thousands on laser treatment. I think that's too much money for vanity's sake.

We all have faults. You should just tell her to learn to live with them.

This dosent always happen when someone gets fat it just means there body is growing at an abnormal pace. You can use coco butter lotion. They sell this at stores made just for stretch marks. But the marks will never ever go away for good. They can only reduce. Try it! And good luck.

Strech marks aren't only associated with obese people...everyone gets them. I'm practically stick thin and I have strech marks; skin streches as your body develops.

Cocoa butter works in certain cases and some over the counter creams/lotions are effective; you just have to find what best suits your daughter.

I believe butter cream works the best. I had stretch marks when I was a kid. They'll go away eventually.

The best suggestions I could make are take bomelin and papayian (enzymes); you can get them at the health food store. She should take them on an empty stomach, because they are treated like scar tissue. Also, rubbing Vitamin E oil on the topically, and taking it internally, could help.

I had the same thing when I went through puberty and was actually about the same size as your daughter. I am sixteen now and they seem to be going away, and I haven't done anything for them... but they slowly seem to be disappearing.
