My Great-grandfather...he had lost two fingers on his right hand in a farming accident when he was a boy...That man LOVED to try to get me to shake his hand because he KNEW i didn't want to touch where his fingers were missing.

I was afraid of 2 things and they went together. The first was the dark, and the second was my closet door being open at night while I was sleeping.

I grew up in the cold war era, I was scared of Russia sending missiles to kill us all, now that the cold war is over all I have to worry about now is some radical muslim fanatic setting off suitcase nukes or dirty bombs or biological agents , MUCH better.... NOT

Candyman. I watched the movie with my cousins and I never was the same after. I still get a little creeped out when I see it on cable. I kind of speed past like I didn't see it.

In the 1950s I was scared of communists and the atom bomb. In grade school we had to watch the films for when there was an atomic attack and fallout.We had one tv channel and I remember when russia was going to BURY US.

The dark. If I was sleeping in the bed with an adult I was afraid they were going to roll over and actually be a big scary monster!!!!
