What you mean is will the repukes rig another election, or will the democratic and American response be great enough to over come these atrocity's, I sure hope so. We need to restore checks and balances to the government.

We can only hope so, if I was a religous man I would pray for a Republican landslide.

Lets look at your 'mess':
Iraq war, significant but small piece of the overall war on terror. Best damned response we have had to militant islamics since THEY declared war on us during the Carter administration.

The deficit, shrinking, despite a slowdown caused by Clinton policies, a brief recession caused by the attacks on 9/11, and increased spending on the militiary. The economy is booming latest number over 5% GDP grow rate. A huge surge of new tax revenues because of the tax cut polices and once again the money is actually comming in faster the Congress can spend it.

Outing our own spies, not sure where this comes into play as a Republican issue, but yes it is awful, the New York Times has done everything it can to help us not stop terrorists. Oh you mean that silly little lady that was not under cover, that had been photograhed in Newsweek with her fraud husband months before, it was released that she worked for the CIA? Non story next.
No accountabilty for Abu Graib? Tell that to the people serving time and dishonorably discharged. I can't believe that you even you lib's are more upset over some humiliation of terrorists then you are over hostages being beheaded. You all need to take a look at your priorities in life.
Hurricane Katrina, a personal favorite of mine, hmmm you live under sea level, a category 5 hurricane is headed straight at you, predicted for days, and you sit there and wait for the federal government to come save you? And you want to say FEMA's response was weak? What about the state and local governments, what about personal responsibilty, what about some f$%*ken common sense?

The Democrats will not win the elections in 2006. They are too stuck on slamming Republicans and George Bush to even formulate answers for the problems this nation faces today. Listen to any Democrat today - all they talk about is getting even with Bush, doing everything they can to derail his policies. They are not unified, and they do not even come close to having a strategy for the country. The directions the Democrats want to take America is "anywhere but Bush." Even Democratic strategists on TV are saying they had better pull their heads out of their *sses and come up with a strategy.

Republicans, though you may not agree with all of their policies, at least have a direction they want to go. The war on terror has been effective, and the economy is growing by leaps and bounds. Are there things they can do better? Absolutely! They need a better energy policy, they need to do way more to shrink the size of government and they need to take a look at more tax breaks that affect the middle class.

Under Republican leadership:

* The tax cuts have resulted in a 25% GAIN in tax revenues collected.
* Home ownership is at record highs.
* The stock market is booming and people are making huge gains in retirement accounts.
* Housing starts and finishes are at higher levels than we have seen in 20 years.
* Unemployment is at about as low as it can get without stagnating the economy.
* There have been no more terror attacks on American soil since 9/11.
* Numerous would be terrorists and terror plots have been discovered and stopped.

You keep hearing about our "rights" being taken away. I challenge you to name one right that has been taken away.

* Freedom of speech: Have you seen the baseless vitriolic hate that has been spewed on this and other sites? I think that SUPPORTS freedom of speech is more alive than ever.
* Freedom of religion: Name one person that has been barred from practicing his or her chosen religion. You won't be able to.
* Freedom of the press: The press obviously has the freedom to publish state secrets without fear of retribution.

You cannot name ONE RIGHT you cannot exercise today that you could not do 10, 20, 30, 50 or 100 years ago. Bottom line is that our rights ARE NOT being taken away. The administration is doing a damn fine job of ensuring our rights while using all means necessary to stop would be terrorists.

Now, while I firmly believe the Democrats have already blown the 2006 elections, it is too early to tell for 2008. The Dems still have time to cull lessons learned from this year. Maybe they'll straighten up and listen to what the American public is telling them. They thought they had the 2004 elections because Bush's approval rating was at 45% - yet he still won the election with over 50% of the vote. That should tell you something. It should tell the Democrats something.

I think it will take much more for peope to stop supporting Bush. He is, however losing poularity. There still are many big fans of him as I can see in responses to on this site of people who unswayingly defend him. It is not just Bush that we should distrust but the entire administration. I like how you worded it, "the Republicans in the Congress and White House." Many people talk about how much they love Gearge Bush or hate George Bush or how he is an idiot. They talk about him like they know him personally, like he is only one handling all of this.

I was suprised after all that has happened up until the election that we still had so many people supporting him. I campaigned for Kerry at our local Democratic office and although I felt I had to do what I could, I had this feeling inside that he would win the election anyway. Well, brainwashing is easy and there are a lot of people who want to support him. So let happen what may and I'll continue to do my part.

Do an assume that a free and fair election is possible in this country. Power is the absolute crack and addiction. People who have it will do anything to keep it. With the easily hackable Debold voting machines and the evidence of voting irregularities by the GAO, do you honestly think the republicans are going to relinquish control? I unfortunately don't think so. The rovian wave is again starting to come ashore. Who will swift-boated this time? Unbelievable what passes for freedom in this once proud nation. So much for WE THE PEOPLE. Jefferson warned us and provided directions. I am just waiting to see who throws up the barricades first.

Most people in the US know your lies and bullshit for what they are. It is pretty clear that the next elections will be landslide victories for the republicans. The dems are finished as a political force in this country. And liberalism has been revealed as evil.
