Hi there! I've been conteplating this for a long time... I was thinking of writing my own Harry Potter Book Seven. What do you think? It'd be kind of a fanficion thing, but rather than going off on my own plot, I plan to be correct with the books - Horcruxes, the Prophecy, everything.
It will be very difficult, seeing as it's already hard for me to plan out how the plot will go Horcrux-wise and stuff (I've written over ten pages of notes and research already), but I'd like to try it.
What do you think? Good idea? Bad idea? Would you be interested in reading it or something if I finished?

EDIT: I'd put a disclaimer and stuff saying nothing belongs to me (character-wise and stuff). I'm not trying to be JK Rowling or anything, either.

Honestly, some of you have the wrong idea. I'm not trying to write something better or more correct or anything than JK Rowling's Book Seven when she finishes it.

I won't try and publish it or anything... it won't be any different than other fanfiction. Please don't assume that I'm trying to make it more popular than te real book or anything. It's a fanfic, just my version of what I think Book Seven could be like.

Don't do it as a book seven. But do write a fan fic.
There are lots of sites out there devoted to HP fan fics. They can help with ideas and encouragement.

I don't believe you should do it simply because there is already a book seven pending and if you do write one i am pretty sure it would be considered some kind of purgury you don't know anything about horcuxes or what they may be and just because you did your research doesn't mean you should write a book seven don't do it for the sake of all of us just write your own magical book but not Harry Potter.

I think a fan fic would be great. There's nothing out there stopping you from continuing where JKR left off. I can't remember how many fan fics I've seen for book 6. Just make sure that if you post it on your own site or myspace or whatever, make sure that you state that it's PURELY one of your own works. There's also many message board sites that have fan fic sections. (www.snitch.co.uk is one good one.) Who knows...maybe you'll be having Jo herself sweating bullets.... Since noone has any clue what's in store for Harry in the next segment, or what the title will be, and I'm about 100% sure Jo has it locked in a vault, you shouldn't have to worry too much about being sued. (Unless you're her publisher in disguise or something, which if that's the case, PLEASE tell her to hurry!!!)

You know, as a published author, I am always honored by fanfic, and there are plenty of newsgroups and fanclubs that would welcome your submission. From what I know of Rowling, she'd be fine with this sort of flattery as well. Just know that anything published is plagiarism, so avoid that. Since you've obviously got interest and skill in writing, why not put your talent to use in a world of your own imagination? You could be the next J.K....
Best wishes,
~Tia~

It's an interesting idea, I would read it, but it would be too different to become REALLY popular. People would read it because of curiosity, but it's won't be true. Although it is fiction already, it wouldn't be what truly happens in the story. It would be fanfiction.
If you really want to, then you should try it! It seems very interesting and I would definitely read it!
Good Luck!

If you love to write I think it is a great idea. It would develop your creativity as well. I think it would be very interesting to read. Just to see what people expect to read in the next Harry Potter book based upon the 6th one.

hey im obsessed with harry potter but instead why not just write ur ideas down then share it with us, writing book 7 is just over board and no affence it probually will just be all facts and stuff. so instead why not write a little note books filling up the pages with ur theories like
1.horcuxes-list them
dumbledore dead or alive-list why or why not
etc
jusy list a topics like "siruis-""harry" etc, then share ur ideas instead of riting book seven.its just a waste of time to write a book that is already being ritten,

I think you should write it, it's a good idea. After you write it, e-mail it to allenhossin94@yahoo.com. I'd like to read it. And maybe you can make a book out of it, but it would just be another side of the story.

I would read ANYTHING having to do with Harry Potter- no matter who wrote it unless it was a mean piece of writing talking bad about the series I Love.
