Hey look at you!
It's great that you're actively looking for information to benefit yourself.

I'm going to give you 30 plus years of experiential advice.
1) Anyone that suggests you take a supplement before you are a pro athlete...is an idiot - that includes Weider/ Wieder - whoever.

2) Exercise. This is not a body building competition...but you have to be physically fit to take a hit in football.

3) Eat well...my 13 year old son (Travis) knows the difference between good foods and bad so I bet you do too.
No soda (colas), no chips (not even the healthy ones), no cookies.

Fruit. Vegetables. Whole grain breads. Drink at least a glass of water every couple of hours.

And stick with it...even when you don't feel like you're getting any better...keep up the exercise.

GO FOR IT and have a great time!

I feel for you. When I was 16, I was 6'4" and weighed 135. My nick name was string bean, I got stuffed in lockers etc. Work out, stay healthy, lift weights and be patient. You will probably grow a lot over the next 10 years. Plus in ten years people will care more about what you can accomplish than how you look. Exercise your brain. I now weigh 220 and am working to make sure I don't gain weight. Life changes.

I also have the same problem that you do. The best thing that you can do is EAT! The 8 meal a day plan works great. It is not miniature meals, normal sized meals. Non stop eating basically. Avoid junk food it will not gain you weight. Stick to Carbs, and Protein. You are probably too young to be taking protein shakes, but there are bars and things that you can also try.

eat foods full of protein(chicken, fish, beef) and starches(pasta and breads), but makes sure you are active when doing this otherwise you will get big but it won't be the big you want. Of course the portions of food also depends on the position you are going for.

eat, as darkmagician said, but focus mainly on starches like bread pasta and rice....as well as a lot of protein i.e. beef. also you need to exercise while doing this so it turns to muscle instead of fat
