there is not reason to not let them . the idea of not letting gays get married is sole based in really old people who cannot understand that everyone has rights and that the right to get married is included not matter who u are or which are your preferences .

about the bible i think it is respectable if a religion refuses to marry gays but the government is not part of any religious group so it shouldn't give preferences to anyone whether they are heterosexual or homosexuals . who u get married to only matters to the person who is getting married and it has nothing to do whit anybody else included the religious groups and the government .

It threatens the institution of marriage and makes a mockery of the union of man and woman. Which I think is crap. Marriage isn't about man and woman, it's about love and family. Denying that to people who don't love the acceptable person, that being a person of the opposite sex, is purely religious, not legal. Since when were we a religious based government? Isn't there supposed to be a separation between God and state? It's a distraction for the Bush administration so people momentarily forget about all of his mistakes. When he starts screwing up big time they go back to gay marriage. Love is love, and even straight marriage ends in divorce, there is only peoples opinions. Opinions and assholes, everyone has them and they all stink.

Because ppl are wrapped up in the "traditional" marriage instead of the "in love" marriage. That's why most ppl still marry the person their parents like and not the one they really love. Ppl just don't like equality anymore. What if the law changed and only homosexuals could get married, do you think the heteros would have a problem with that? YES the would and that's why us homos are pissed off about this whole marriage deal! Marriage is about love and commitment!!!

You're right -- why not?

And why not let pedophiles marry little girls?

Why not let those prone to bestiality marry cows?

Why not let would-be polygamists marry several women at once?

Why not let bisexual polygamists marry several men and women at once?

Why not let those prone to incest marry their brothers or sisters?

And why not let those prone to necrophilia marry dead people?

Sure, why not? Why not redefine marriage to be based solely on "whatever 'alternative' sexual lifestyle makes the person feel good"?

To hell with the idea that marriage is supposed to serve certain societal purposes, such as the procreation of our species and the raising of children in stable mom-dad environments, among other things.

Because it was Adam and Eve and not Adam and... wait... no... Sorry I was trying to think like a Christian, but then I realized that they're a bunch of unneccepting, linear thinking, hypocrites, that can't come up with there own jokes and must steal them from innocent children, attorneys, and Jeff Foxworthy. The christian god shouldn't rule the country, the teachings of bhudda should.

being homosexual in the bible is an abomination didn't say sin or bad but an abomination. Most of our laws are based on the bible. Thats why i think they wont let them get married. I have no problem with them getting married b/c that is their choice and they are just trying to take their love to the next level as everyone else does

It's not God's perfect plan. God's perfect plan is for a man to be with a woman. And thats just it. Time out for the jokes and the playing, no more compromising. It's what God says.

for all yall idiots saying its against the bible..... the first amendment states and i quote "congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religon" the bible is a form of religon!!! and that same bible? says you should love thy neighbor as thyself!! most christians can be the greatest hypocrites of all time. jesus and god love every single freakin person on this planet. black, white, gay, striaght, male, female. no one is better then another person. and god is not going to send someone to hell just because they happen to like someone if the same gender!! and marraige is based on love. not gender, race, religon, ect. im sure gays dont enjoy being told they cant marry who they love. take a step in there shoes. bush is an idiot not to allow gays to marry. they are people to, and should have equal rights. one of my best friends is a lesbian, and shes no different from any of my other friends. she desrves the same rights i do. if not, then thats just discrimination. and see where discrimination got us?? blacks, women, and jews ll lost a lot of rights (not to mention lifes!) because of discrimination. no one peson should be allowed the right to be steryotypical and descriminate and take rights away from people. and thats all i have to say on this matter for right now. hope yall christian tight wads see the light
