The reason I do it is to kind of make a point that I am not sensitive to such things. And that I can have a sense of humor of things instead of getting embarrassed about it.
e.g. burping.
Either I can get self concious, or laugh it off. Make sense.

Usually, we do it to impress other guys. The more hardcore we can be, the more respect we get, most of the time anyway.
