every time you look on the tv its a story about some celebrity getting married or divorcing or some other crap that we really have no business knowing in the first place. why do most americans want to hear this and why are we so frikin nosey?
personally i dont give a rats @ss if j-lo is pregnant or being arrested for a d.u.i.! their personal life is none of my business so why do we make it a point to make it our business? i dont care if nicole kidman is getting married...and then they are treated better than the queen of england or any other royalty! just doesnt make sense to me!

thank you!!!! remember when people magazine had real people in it? real heroes, interest stories, etc? now it's another celebrity trash mag. Where I work people buy lots of magazines and mostly celebrity mags. What the hell? who cares what they do? is it a media push or what? save us!!!

I couldnt agree more with you. The reason why Americans care so much about stupid things like that is because the news is pretty much one big soap oprea. They try to make it seem as if what is happening to famous people is actually important, so people just believe them and watch it.
Also, this country is one of the few that it seems as if everyone wants to do something to become famous. It isnt about getting an education and doing something useful with your life, its all about getting famous, and all famous people know about all other famous people. So of course anyone who has dreams of one day making it big is going to pay attention to every word they say.
Another reason why the idiots of this country follow every word of what is going on is because we dont have enough of our own life. It is much more interesting to listen about how someone's life is changing because your life isnt going anywhere. If you look at people who will actually do something with their life or have goals, they dont really care at all about how someones life is, because they have too much to worry about.
I think it is terrible that the news allows for this because people need to stop paying attention to everything and live their own lives.

Actually, I don't know why is royalty treated that way in the first place.... they do nothing!!!
Agree with you, everything I care about is what they wear in on the red carpet, gives me ideas if I'm having a big event or something.

I am blissfully ignorant of most celebrities. They laugh at work because I do not know who or what they are talking about !
I like movies, but they are just movies. The people in them just did a job.
