It's just to keep in touch with people, you get addicted for a while, but then it gets boring and is pretty much a small portion of your life, mainly when you are bored. For example you are bored at home by yourself and want to know if any parties or kick backs are happening, go on myspace and post a bulletin asking that question. Once you are familiar with myspace you'll get things like messages, friend request from random people who are usually disguised internet predators, bands, wannabe bands trying to get famous, or web cam girls. Rarely you will get someone new who will actually try to get to know you as a friend.
Other than that it's just a passtime thing. That's myspace.

Its a social networking site. So many people are drawn to it because it is addicting.
Once you start, you want to find everyone you've ever met and add them as a friend. You want to find everyone you've ever dated and look at their page to see what their up to. You want to look at everyone's pictures. You want to personalize your page and make it look exactly like you want and find the perfect song. There is a bulletin board where you can post messages that all of your friends can read and you want to read all of those. You can join groups of people with similar interests to your own and each group has its own forum for discussion. You can write blogs to let everyone know how you're doing. You can post comments on other peoples pages and comment on their pictures. You can send and recieve email type messages. There are also comedy, music, and short films to browse through. There are classified ads.
MySpace is awesome. You can make new friends, keep in contact with old ones, find a job and sell your car -- all on one site.

Truth is it's a visual way to keep in contact with people you thought would never come into your life.
It's more personal than a phone number, a screen name and an email.... it's a snippet of someone's life.... it makes you feel like you are still connected to everyone you knew.

Because you can access it though msn messenger which is very popular. It's also very easy to use and post photos and stuff. Also when any of your contacts changes its space then a star shows next to its name.

My mom says people who go on myspace have no life nor self-esteem.
:)
I find it a waste of time.
