Do you know that Female circumcision is legal in South East Asia?

This practice is very common here but no one seems to complain. Why?

It is a great crime against Humanity.

The women themselves insist upon it, else the men will not find the female *children* "marriageable." They would be "outcasts."

A true indictment of the barbarity of these societies in my opinion.

Mutilate the girls. Rip, tear, disfigure, and and abuse their bodies.

What could possibly be more desirable?

I lived in South East Asia regions for more than 20years,and I think you got the information right.Most of the SE Asia countries do not forbid the Female Circumcision.Besides it's been a very common thing there.Even for some of the Muslim Female Circumcision is encouraged during her childhood. The practice has been done either in big capital Hospital and even in the private non doctor operator.Eventough,the practice is not so popular again,since the Muslim Koran only suggest not obligate,and it's been seen useless and costly.It cost between US$25 - US$50,which for most of the SE low citizen means 1month's salary.Besides for the SE countries like Malaysia,Indonesia,Brunei,Philipine etc which most of the citizen and its leader are muslim,of course it's legal for them,since thru their Koran said so.

For the same reason that no one complains that 60% of male infants in the United States are circumcised. It is seen as "the way things are" or even, "the best thing to do."

I guess people believe that if parents want to cut off pieces of their babies' genitals, it's their own business. At least the attitude seldom extends to arms, legs, or heads.

should be properly termed female castration. Prevents a woman from getting sexual pleasure for life. Common amongst some Muslim sects, are you in a Muslim region of SE Asia?
