I was just wondering because ever since I came out, I feel like I have not fit in well with any scene. I feel like in order for me to be with one of the token gay male I would need to change who I am. I just think that guys can be way to much work, and I was wondering if they all were high maintenance and/or were unstable in a relationship.

By all means, PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE WHO YOU ARE!!!
There are guys all over the gay scale. (in the gay world it's been deemed the map) Example: Are you straight acting or are you a queen? Well I am all over the map.
Everyone is different. There are your gay guys who like to ride dirt bikes, go surfing, hiking, and then there are those that like to go shopping and carry their dogs in little prada bags...lol......
Be who you are and you will find who you need. The person to complete you. Try Myspace.com. I did a quick search for gay people around the Zip Code of 68510 and found six pages of all kinds of gay guys on there. Myspace is free! Check it out!

In the first place, there is probably no such thing as "a gay guy". Sexuality of every variety is a matter of many complex factors, including hormonal, attitudinal, perspective, actual behavior, etc. The only reason that some people SEEM to be stereotypes is that they try very hard to affect such appearances. You are who you are, in a most complicated web of characteristics. If you simply behave in the way that seems most natural to you, I believe you will be more likely to be happy than if you attempt to live up to any kind of an "image" that you may have formed.

There are all types of gay guys, just as there are all types of straight guys. Stay true to yourself! Be who you are.
Not all guys are high maintenance. I loved the guy on "Last Comic Standing" a few weeks ago. He was this huge, tall guy wearing a football jersey. He said he didn't look like the stereotypical gay guy, and doesn't like stereotypical gay men. He likes a guy that can throw a football, AND a tantrum!

What the hell are you talking about..."Token Gay Male!" You need to get out more. Gays are no different than anyone else...some are crazy, some are smart as hell, some are egomaniacs, some are sweet, some are kind...etc. If you don't fit in with the gays, it could well be you that has the problem, not them. Open your eyes and take a real look.

No, we tend to be pretty much like every other guy. We hide in plain site so to speak. For many of us being stereotypical feels like bad taste, we don't feel the need. Just focus on being who you are and doing what makes you happy. You can be one of us out when asked gays.

Certainly not!! You mean the lisping, liking pink, being obsessed over certain things? One of my close friends is gay and he's not stereotypical at all. You wouldn't except for that he's open and has a boyfriend. Don't change who you are

NO, there are many gay guys who are now a days more masculine then femeinine and there are even gay guys who can come across as straight. So the sterotypical gay guy does exist just not in every gay guy.

No, not all gays are stereotypical. You would never guess my lover of nearly 15 years and I am not at all sure you would guess me, although I am a nurturer, which can be a give away.
You are correct, the location doesn't help. Move for college perhaps?

know what u mean. I'm a gay man, I love sports, playing watching, I wear casual clothes nothing that would tip me off as being a flamer. just be you. I know it sounds corny but it's true. I'm bot high maintence and prefer stable loving relationships as opposed to bitter and self doubting ones, just be who you are and you''ll attract the right guy

I know somebody who is gay and no not all of them. I think to fit in all u have to do is be urself after all u do seem like a pretty cool person.
