Pick up a copy of Backstage West at any decent sized newstand. There will be listings for all kinds of acting classes, but if I were you I would look into Community colleges like LA City College or Santa Monica College.
They usually have classes in theatre and film acting, taught by good instructors. You will also have the opportunity to audition for school productions, the course lasts about 18 weeks, and you will be able to network yourself out. And they are set to lower tuition to about $20 per unit soon, so a 3 unit, 18 week class will only cost you $60.

"Good" and "expensive" are relative terms. If you're paying $10/class and getting worse, that's very expensive. There is no perfect acting class for everyone. Most classes will allow you to audit once or twice to see how they work. Choose one that has good actors (you learn a lot just by watching them) and that you feel comfortable in. Then pay whatever it costs. If you're serious, the point is to get better, not to save money. If you're not serious (which is OK too) then start with the least expensive classes and pick the one that's the most fun.
