Amber Lynn was one of the first big stars of porn in the video age, as explicit films moved from dark hostels of blowjobbery to video players in America's studies. She has appeared in hundreds of porn films, including Dear Fanny, On Golden Blonde, and Porn in the USA.
Lynn was part of the local club scene while still a minor, becoming involved with a married man who covered all her expenses for several years until his wife found out. She was later befriended by Larry and Althea Flynt, and posed for Hustler and other men's magazines. She began making films at 19, borrowing her stage name from her friend, Ginger Lynn. Their success made the last name Lynn popular for porn, but neither Lynn is related to the other Lynns of porn -- Gina, Kristi, Jamie, Micki, Veronica, Porsche, Taylor, or Tianna.
When Lynn's older brother Buck Adams expressed interest in the business, she reportedly introduced him to several producers and directors. He has had a long and successful career as a porn performer and, later, director, and Adams directed his sister in Nightwatch and Babewatch 3 and 4. In answer to the often-asked prurient question, Lynn and Adams have acted in numerous films together, but never in intimate scenes.
She was reportedly ticketed for drunk driving in 1997, and had a fist-sized tumor yanked from her uterus in 2003. As of 2004, Amber and Ginger Lynn were co-hosting a weekly talk show podcast on a porn website.
