My dad and my uncles said that if I wrestled this year they would not attend any of my matches even if I was in state finals. It really made me upset so I turned out for the team and made varsity. The guys on the team were really mean as I exspected, but when I started beating the best on the team the coach asked my dad to make me quit. He knew that my dad wanted me to quit, so my dad made up excuses for me to be grounded. That way I missed practices and matches, and without an excused note from my dad the third time I missed practice the coach kicked me off the team. Now tell me thats not wrong!!!!!

What your uncles / dad / coach did was totally wrong. Everyone (including men and women of any age / race) should be able to pursue their sport of interest, especially since there are no "guys only" rules on sports.

To answer your question: Generally speaking, men do not like to feel inferior to women. Men have always felt, still feel, and probablly will always feel that they are the stronger, better, more intelligent, and more powerful gender.

History has shown us that women had to struggle many years before they could even vote, much less work!

Men tend to be arrogant, just because many powerful political posts (president) are held by men.

What the coach did to you was very wrong. You deserve to be on that team. Go back and tell them that women have a right to do anything that men do.

In fact, women are better in many things than a man will ever be.

If this problem persists, I suggest you complain to the police.

Oh my gosh. That's so rude! I plan to become a Diva for the WWE when I turn 18 and I love to wrestle! I want to tell you ONE thing && I hope you always remember it...Even if your dad grounds you a bajillion times,or the team hates you,or everybody else does, don't give up this dream if you really have a passion for the sport.Be like a soldier..be like John Cena..NEVER BACK DOWN NEVER QUIT.

The reason that girls should not wrestle for the boys team and that your dad will not go is that he does not want to see boys groping you on the mat. The boys will not concentrate on the match and just try to get a good feel.

it is so sexist that the coach, teammates, and especially the father to do that. it's down right sickening! it's great that a girl is on the wrestling team. it actually is quite entertaining. not on a sexual level, but to see how agressive a girl can be on the mat. i fully support girls on the wrstling teams. when i wrestled there was only one girl on the team and she got a ton of respect from the other wrestlers.

Most men are the same as they were 50 years ago, in there thinking that a womens place is in the home.... but they need to realize that this is 2006 and not 1950..... I applaud you for you making the team..... and if you sit down and talk to your parents and tell them what it means to you. that could relieve alot of the stress and hopefully make things alittle better.....

i think that its wrong.
my daughter was the first female to be on the football team when she was in school and they made her quit for unnecessary roughness. it was ok for the boys to do it, but not her

ive always wondered if it wasnt an intimidation thing with males. woman in predominantly male sports really insults the male ego

Hey...that is wrong! That's not fair! Did you know that you could file a law suit against the coach for discrimination?? That is SO unfair!
