It is the time of year that major cities are having gay pride. I havent noticed anything out of the ordinary, except Russia recently had their first gay pride. Other than that its just the time of the year.

Several people have already explained that June is Gay Pride month, but is there something more behind your question? Are you wondering why gay people have parades at all? If so, think of many other parades and celebrations that mark special social gains and progress for humanity. It's important to celebrate things like independence or hard won social freedoms as a reminder to value them and not lose them.

A good number of people are coming out of the closet. Also, since race pride, women's pride, and others are slowly dying out because they have accomplished a good amount of things to which they have really wanted, the gays have now seen the opportunity to step out and find their ability to fight for the rights that they believe is entitled to them, just as the other groups have done in the past. They just waited for those issues to die down first.

Gaybashing? When's the last time you've heard of a gay actually getting bashed? People call you a gay basher if you believe it's morally wrong so they prance down main street cramming it down your throat.
