Well, formating your hard drive will provide you with a clean slate software wise.
As for options, you will need to enter setup prior to the loading of the Microsoft Windows OS (usually by pressing DEL or F8) and see if there is a "Restore to Factory Settings" and/or "Default" option.

you must need the restore cds...
and then you can restart your system restore point..
and then you can restart everything

Reformat the Hard drive and then reinstall the operating system (Windows). That is about it.

Format your harddrive
This is done by:
Right clicking C:\, then Format.
Or: you must use the CD/Floopy that you have. Sometimes windows will not deleate it self.
ReInstall your OS (Ex. Windows XP)
And then turn it on!

try doing a system recovery its like having a new pc again it will reinstall your softwares, drivers and OS and its like having a new pc again the but you have to install all the windows updates and update you antivirus and anti spyware.....hope this helps
