They were simply the beneficiary of yet another bad judgement by a referee. This world cup has been full of them as we all have seen and are now reading about in the sporting news. Most of the soccer writers at the world cup have said that there is no way that a penalty kick was justified. The Italian player took a dive and sold it very well and fooled the referee. We all are aware I'm sure that history has shown us that in a game of this importance and at that stage of the game, traditionally a foul in the box needs to be of a much more severe and obvious nature to be called than that one was. A poor way to win a game where "fair play" is supposed to rule.

ah Italy did not win the world cup. i think you mean how id italy pull off todays win.

. Its a split second decision, and the referee got it all wrong. And my heart goes to the Aussies. I really feel pity for them
