approximately 2 weeks after your period, one of your ovaries will release an egg. when you have sex, the sperm travels up your fallopian tube to the egg, and burrows inside. as soon as it is inside, the egg seals itself against any other sperm. The egg then travels down you fallopian tube to your uterus, and proceeds to attach itself to the lining of your uterus. It then starts to develop. The best time to get pregnant is halfway between the first day of your last period, and the first day of your next, usually around 2 weeks. No time is absolutely safe to have unprotected sex. You probably would`nt get pregnant in the first 3 days after, but I would`nt bet on it.

A woman has a period about every 28 days..around the 10-14 day from starting her period a women ovulates..spme do sooner and some later... If u are planing on have a baby try and have sex then...
IT IS NEVER SAFE TO HAVE UNPROTECTED SEX..
Sperm can live 4-6 days in the vagina.... so there is a high chance she can become prego.

I think that instead of asking us on yahoo you should learn the whole process yourself. You will never feel so liberated than when you know your body. And, I can't give that to you...you have to give it to yourself.

I had trouble trying to conceiveve. And, after feeling like I was groping in a dark closet a friend suggested this book by Toni Weschler. I suggest you invest in it and read it. It will change your life!

If I do have a girl she will get this book when she begins her first menstral cycle. It's such a gift...

PS: The two week rule is not science. It is different for every woman. The two week rule is based on a 28 day menstral cycle. And, an ovulation within the first 15 days of that cycle. However, we are all different and it doens't always happen that way for every woman. It's best to know your own body...

women have different cycles... but, basically, an egg leaves the ovaries, travels through the fallopian tubes to the uterus where it waits to be fertilized... if nothing happens to it, it disintegrates... and the walls of your uterus that are filled with blood, to nourish what could have been a baby, let the blood flow... giving you a period. best time to get pregnant could be 1-2 weeks after your period depending on when you ovulate... like i said, its different for every woman.
