I lived in Dun Laoghaire (pronounced dun leary) for 6 months in college. Beautiful area right south of Dublin. Nice seaside trails and small hills. Stay in a bed/breakfast or stay in Dublin and take the DART to Dun Laoghaire.

Tara Hill is just that...a hill. It's green and beautiful but so is all of Ireland. Go to County Antrim and Derry in northern Ireland. The "troubles" are for the most part over. THe Giant's Causeway is unbelievable and northeast Ireland and northern Ireland are so hauntingly beautiful it will make you cry. Added bonus, the American tourists are all down on the southern coast seeing Waterford, Ring of Kerry, Killarney, etc. Crowded, touristy, trite. Central Ireland too - Rock of Cashel, Mac Clonnoise are the SOUL of Ireland. ENJOY!!! WHAT a trip!
