If, like me, you don't know the conversion factor, do this:
1) You know 1 liter is 1000 cc
2) You know 2.54 cm is 1 inch. Therefore 1 cu inch is 2.54 x 2.54 x 2.54 cc = about 16.387 cc.
3) Divide 1000 by 16.387 to get about 61.02 cu inches

a liter is 1000 cubic centimeters, and a cubic inch is 2.54cm X 2.54cm X 2.54cm or about 16.38 cubic centimeters in a single cubic inch. So 1000 / 16.38 = 61 - so about 61 cubic inches.

1 liter = 61.02 cubic inches.
For converting liters to cubic inches the formula is:
# of Liters x 61.023 = cubic inches

You want to convert
1 L ----> in³
Conversion factors:
1000 mL = 1 L
1 cm³ = 1 mL
1 in = 2.54 cm or ----> 1 in³ = 2.54³ cm³
If you divide each equation by the value at the right side, then you get a set of values equal to 1
1000 mL/1 L = 1
1 cm³/1 mL = 1
1 in³/2.54³ cm³ = 1
Since they are all equal to 1, then you can multiply these values to 1 L:
1 L
= 1 L (1)(1)(1)
= 1 L (1000 mL/1 L)(1 cm³/1 mL)(1 in³/2.54³ cm³)
= 61.0237 in³
