well im 13 and i am not the most fit person in the world and i really started noticing like how i look and my weight at about age 12 or 11

Age is general where is cognitave development is more specific-when the child puts value on the reflect appraisals by others and developes self esteem-this is when non approval or approval needs are realized. In generlal starting at 4 or 5 yo and running beyound the early teens.

Most kids don't, but I remember feeling different when I was in the 4th and 5th grade. It really depends on the child. Normally around junior high is when looks really start being important in kids' social lives.

they know from day one! Attractive people are treated different than unatractive people. When someone is attractive he is preceded as being smarter, more capable and better suited for the job. If someone looks like a geek, no matter how smart he is he will be treated badly. Fact of life.

It depends on the maturity of the child. WIth my twins, one started worrying about appearance at age 5, the other at age eight.

All my friends and I started wearing make-up and actually spending time on ourselves in the last few months of eigth grade. So I would have to say 14-15.

I think they start noticing about the time they begin school. Some might notice it a little earlier because of the way people treat them.
