I don't know how you would go about getting prescription estrogen, but there are some foods which contain estrogen which you could eat in large quantities until you can get prescription estrogen. Pomegranates and soy are one source. I do not think you are sick or crazy, so don't feel bad about this.
Good Luck!

I don't think birth control pills are what you need. The amount of estrogen/progestrin in them wouldn't do anything for you. Most times people going through transgender identification need to see a specialist who can perscribe the apppopriate hormones to start the process and supress the production of testosterone, not to mention psychiatric counseling to help you deal with the transition.

I'm afraid you would be playing with fire if you try to self medicate.

I hope that you wait until your tour of duty is complete and that you are saving $ to go through the process. It isn't cheap and insurance doesn't usually cover the cost.

See a doctor. Seriously. There are way too many side effects from estrogen therapy including, but not limited to, stroke, heart attacks and hypertension. These risks go through the roof if you are a smoker. (Which is why you see the disclaimer about smoking in birth control ads). Taking estrogen without proper medical supervision is dangerous. And that's for women. I can't even begin to imagine what it might do to you.

Wow! No derogatory comments! I AM surprised!!
As someone said, see a doc about this, cos you can do yourself some real harm.
Saying that, Ephedrine(sp?) is used in body building and (wrongly) by lots of UK doormen. You can get it over the counter. It's a female hormone, I believe. It promotes breast tissue if you take it but don't work out on it. Also, it can make you easy to anger and gives you the mental strength when your muscles give up (hence the doormen's use of it) so be aware!

Good luck bud. I don't think your weird.

:)
