I have been wanting to have a baby for about a year now. My husband and I weren't really trying, more just if it happens it happens. About 7 years ago I became pregnant and was scared about my situation that I terminated the pregnancy. For about 4 years, I have been having unprotected sex but was always curious why I haven't gotten pregnant. I'm scared that maybe the abortion may have played a role in me unable to conceive. My husband has a child from a previous marriage, so I know it can't be him. Went to the doctors, and was told my cervix is pushed all the way in the back and was tilted. I got back a normal pap and that it wasn't my time yet. I have sex about twice a week. Am I worrying too much or should I go get a second opinion?

I had this same problem. I had an abortion when I was young. Then when trying to conceive, I thought the abortion may have done something because it took a while. BUT I did get pregnant eventually. I think you are probably ok. If your doctors think so, than I would trust them. If you try for a long time and still nothing, then you could ask your doctor about fertility drugs or other options.

Good luck!

If having an abortion caused women not to be able to conceive again 2nd abortions wouldn't exist. Prior pregnancies and your husband having earlier children doesn't have anything to do with now. There are so many things that could be wrong with either one of you now. I think you need to go to a fertility clinic if you guys really want a baby. The longer you wait the lower your chances may be.

I know how you felt i had one to then a year later i was pregnant again but i lost it because i had Cancer cells on my cervix. So i was worried that i could not have a child. Know my cervix is smaller then it should and it is pushed back but 4 months after my miscarry i found out that i was pregnant and i have been scared so many things could go wrong. Just think it is not your time to have a baby. you will get pregnant when god wants you to.

Sometimes a tilted cervix makes conception a little more troublesome because the ejaculation doesn't get a direct hit into the cervical opening. If your cervix was tilted forward, doggy-style intercourse could have given an advantage with the sperm deposit positioning. If your cervix is also tilted in the same fashion, it could be an advantage for you, too. It's worth a try!

It may be unpopular, but sometimes abortions can make it difficult to conceive again. And unfortunately, it wasn't your body that was killed. It was a baby's. There is forgiveness.
