I think it would be great if the team that won the WS every year went on the international world championship and competed with other countries! Firstly, it would be great to see how that team did against countries that are poorer but hardcore about baseball (Dominican Republic, I'm looking at you). Secondly, It would stop all of those "Why do you call it the World Series if it's only North American teams" questions.

I know that the championship takes place during the regular season, but just imagine something could be worked out...wouldn't it be thrilling?

I want to hear what other people think about this. I realise it probably won't happen any time soon, but a girl can dream, right?

Right now the only nation that can really compete is Japan. In Japan, players must play 8 years with their team before they can be free agents and sign in the U.S. This rule keeps their league strong, and in tact. We saw how good their players are in the World Baseball Classic and I agree, you cannot call it a "World" Series if you do not include Japan and at least the Cuban champ.

The Dominican, Venezuelan, Puerto Rican, and Mexican leagues all have major and minor league players, and are considered Winter Leagues, or essentially a head start on the Spring Training.

I think that would be good. Since it's during the season, maybe the could use the prior WS Champions, and work that into their schedule. I know that sometimes the teams change, but those players could still have that obligation with their previous WS team.

Definatly something to think about.

I think it is a good idea, but what about the foreigners who play with the world series winning team?

Good idea but Dominican teams play in the winter with major leaguers on thier teams so Dominican, and Venezuelan teams. so it would be very hard to do.

That is pure nonsense.

Those "other" teams are not MLB, so it doesnt matter.
