it was a real gift from the referee to Italy... without that penalty, Italy would have lost, that shows that they aren't as great as they think they are... For me Australia did not deserve that and the referee did not do a nice job there. He killed the game... RED CARD FOR HIM!!!

No it wasn't a penalty. He dived and it is very obvious once you see the replay. The ref should have been smart enough to realize he was doing it out of desperation.
However, if you watched the game on ESPN, after the game they said it was real. Keep in mind though that one of the commentators is Italian. Obvious bias...

Although Italy deseved to win the game, The ref made a mistake, in my opinion there should not have been a penalty.

WELL NO BUT ITALY DESRVES TO WIN BECAUSE THEY HAD ONE PLAYER LESS THAN AUSTRALIA FOR THE WHOLE GAME( ALSO ITALY DESERVES THIS BECAUSE, LAST WORLD CUP 2002 THEY WERE THE VICTIMS OF A BAD REFEREE)

I didn't know Italian players are that good in diving .. wow, impressive! Even the umpire couldn't tell that it was a fake ...
Italy was the clear winner .. in the diving competition.
Bravo to Totti for making the penalty, but there shouldn't be a penalty there.

AAAAARRRRGHH!!! it was utter crap, he took a dive and made sure he was in the box. They played a good match up until that happened. It was an ugly win!!
