I used to own a Tiger Oscar. the best thing to feed him is usually guppies but you have to worry about disease from them and with the cost/several times a week you feed him, this could get expensive. I suggest going with the cichlid food:flakes usually are better, it gives them more time to eat at the top and those slow sinkers never worked for me, they all sank to the bottom and he would have to forage them off the bottom meaning he didnt get his full amount.

I've got two Oscars and I feed them fish pellets called Oscar Grow that I get from the local pet shop. We also get them a dozen feeder fish at least once a week.

Any cichlid pellet should do fine. I personally recommend anything made by Hikari. As far as live food goes, I strongly do NOT recommend feeders as they usually are too risky to bring into your tank due to disease. Unless you bred them yourself or know where they came from, they usually aren't worth the trouble. Instead try frozen food like bloodworms and beefheart cut into small chunks. Or perhaps any little lizard or bug you spot crawling around the house. Check around your lightbulbs for moths and so forth, or dig around the garden for earthworms. Oscars go crazy for earthworms!

i just feed my oscars about a fistfull of oscar pellets once a day in the mornings. and the odd time some ham, meat, or feeders. they will most likely always be hungry, so just feed them once a day at the same time and they will be happy

Goldfish are the best food. You just buy 20 at a time and they will eat them when they get hungry. They are inexpensive too.
