who thinks hip hop and R&B is good music if not why?

some people always tell me that all hip hop is not good but i think otherwise and i just wanted to kno if their were some people who think the same as me or if they think different

certain hip hop I don't like what they say about women...but I have heard some good bars in my time and it would be stupid if me to say that what they do isn't rhythm & poetry .... and it goes so well together..and I Love R&B

I like it the world of hip-hop and R&B go way back this stuff now is a lot okay beats and no messages(rap), now hip-hop is story telling and positive up-lifting like Da La Soul, Leaders of the NEw school(remember the early Busta), Monie Love, Queen Latifah, M.C. Lyte, R&B and Rakeem, Whoodinie, Tride Called Quest, Jungle Brothers...ect. NOw we have THe ROOts, Little Brother, Tialib, Mos Def, and all kind of underground hip-hop artist who keep it traditional and mixed. There is a big difference between Gangsta Rap( West Coast), Hood Rap( dirty South, some New York, alil' mid west a mixture of Hard gangsta and Hood) and Counscience RAp. GET IT Together. R&B Gladys Knight, Al Green, MARVin GAy, Ohio Players, Earth Wind and FIre, Aretha, Chaka Chann, Pattie LaBEll, Luther, the O'jays, Jill Scott, Erykah BAdu, Bilal, Jazzy Phat's, Jaguar Wright, Firtle Ground, Mesa, Otis Redding, Eagles,Bill Withers, ECt.


Hip-hop and Rap go beyond what you thought what you hear now is nothing like it really is in order to get to hip-hop, rap, r& b you have to start with Rag-time, Jazz, B-BOp, Progressive Jazz, then goin to your wold of music . I love music what ever it is be it rap, hip-hop, ska, indie, jazz, rock, heavey meatel(and lets not forget some of rock and heavey metal is worst then what lyrics you might have heard in "Urban" music). Open you MIND,EARS and Tolorance.

I grew up on Hip-Hop, Rap, R&B, Soul, Blues, & Jazz. I love music. It's apart of my culture. It defines who I am as an Black woman. It's like listen to whatever moves you, ya know? I enjoy everyone from Wu-Tang to Common to DJ Quik to OutKast!!! If people wanna look @ it like that, Hip-hop & Rap is just as bad as Death Metal in my book.

As of late though, hip-hop is going to the dogs! Songs like Laffy Taffy" & "Lean Wit It Rock Wit It" WTF?!?!?! I could make a song about Skittles & Maxi Pads as long as it has a bass thumping beat & a catchy hook........Double Platinum.....LMAO!

I like the older stuff (untill about 2000). Almost everything coming out today either all sounds the same, is too raunchy for me, or just doesn't click with me.

i like that music bc it's just my style...i love Mariah Carey! she's like the only R & B artist that i like. and hip hop...i like a lot of artists. i also like rock.
