If it is only the flowers and buds that are turning brown it is probably an insect called Thrips. They are really tiny and get into the tight buds of a lot of flowers and start sucking the life out of them. This time of year the only thing you can do id a constant regiment of Hort. Oil Or Soaps...Mix in some Karo syrup the sweetness might tempt the thrips out of those tight buds so that the pesticide can actually hit them.
Next year early before you see blossoms buy a Systemic, such as Bayer Rose and Shrub. IT will protect your plants from the inside out, but, do it early!!!

Are you saying the rose turns brown or is it the plant. Individual roses will only last a few days, but if you keep the bush watered and fertilized and spray when you see black spot on the leaves they will bloom up until the first freeze, and will come back next year. Also when you water be sure to water only the roots of the plant, don't let the water get on the leaves, this encourages disease growth., and don't forget to dead head them, you know pick off the dead roses.

Lack of water & care. But also, roses thrive in the ground, so once they are picked, their stems begin not to absorb so much water as they would under ground. Thus, the water isn't reaching the petals. I kind of wished they would last longer, because a bouquet is so pretty on a mantle!
