Don't forget all the guys that helped Pac get started - Digital Underground..esp. Humpty Hump. In terms of lyrics, I'm going with Nas - poet laureate of hip hop.

I like this question. I saw Jada-Kiss on MTV saying that he thought he was one of the 5 best rappers -dead or alive- and since then I have been thinking of a list. But he is not on it.

And you know you have to mention Big but we gotta make some room for
Method Man - he has got to be recognized and

I don't have a best. But I like rappers who are real with their lyrics and who lies to make funny remarks. Ya know...clever statements. Like Mystikal and Busta Rhymes But Tupac is like my all time favorite.

depends what i need. if i want to think about change......tupac. if i need to laugh.......ludacris. if i need to get away......nas. if i need to reflect.......atmosphere. if im angry.............ice T/dmx. but can't forget salt-n-peppa, de la soul, krs one, mc lyte, queen latifa, missy elliot, el jefe, anticon.
there are so many great poets......but it seems the current media trend of bling bling or get rich however has tainted the really great rappers.
