The sooner, the better. Don't let society put you in the closet in the first place. You can't be held responsible for the actions/stupidity of others.

I thought the hardest would be explaining it to my kids, they are cool with it. But it helped me to understand how to come out to people. Let them understand it on the level they are comfortable with. Some of my straight friends will never get invited to any of my "GLB" functions even though the are cool with me. They aren't ready.

the other thing, most people already know and they are just waiting for you to say something.

Well, for me, I only told the people that I'm closest to in my immediate family and three friends. As far as anyone else, I won't just bring it up and say, "I want to tell you that I'm gay". If they ask--if the topic comes up--then I'll be honest with them and tell them that I am gay. But I won't make a big deal out of it and bring it up out of the blue. Only if they ask ("they" meaning anyone in the world).

Don't be gay. You'll go to hell for it.The bible said if man ly with man,as they ly with a woman. They should be perished. If you don't know what perished is that means punished.Don't let the devil get the best of you.You can be attracted to the opposite sex.I know you can every gay person can.Another f*cked up person has entered the world.

Anyone else sick of people telling you that you're going to hell or is that just me? If you don't like us GO AWAY.

Most people that are in hiding (I prefer that than in the closet), like myself do it completely out of fear. I fear what people would think if they knew, and I'm guessing that that's why most people do.

coming out was easy. i always felt nothing wrong or uncomfortable with being with guys. it was when i found out i would rather be bi, that was not as easy. you see i grew up in an catholic mission school and we had what is called a brother looking after us and when he went down on a few of us guys well i for one did not complain. it semed a lot more exceptable than being beat for fooling around with the girls. that happened also, see.

My cousin and a child hood friend are both gay. Like you said, most people already suspect. Unless they are very small minded people your sexual orientation has no bearing on your relationship with them. If they abandon you they aren't good for you or anyone else on the planet.

the world may not accept everything, but no one can do anything about that. people shouldn't be forced to hide what they are just because of what others think. they're probably scared of what everyone else will think, whether they'll be accepted or not, how they'll fit in. personally, i think that everyone should just be treated equally, but that's just not happening, i guess. people should just be able to be what they want to be, plain and simple.

I don't know what to tell you on this.

I can say that its way easier than it was 50 years ago.

Only you know when or if to come out about it.
