We've all heard about the many mysterious stories about MySpace. About the people on it and overall the way that it's run. I'm not sure if I'm asking in the correct section but I don't care. Now I want to hear people's real opinion on MySpace! Do you think it should be shut down? Or maybe that it's just a place where people can express themselves. Should their be stricter rules? I think that if parents have a problem with MySpace that they should teach their child how to be safe on the internet! What do you think?

hmm yeh i agree i havn't had a problem with it, i personally think its a good thing i finished high school 4 years ago so people i havnt seen in 4 years i've just started talking to again thro myspace, i think its a good way to keep in touch with people you know, if you dont know someone when you add them to ur friends list you just go into their myspace and read what kind of a person they seem like if they seem to be werid or dirty or something you deny their request, if you add someone that sounds alright and they turn out to be strange you delete them off your list, i'm sorry but i don't understand in so many ways why the internet is that bad i mean i have used it since i was about 12 years old and i had the brains to know that if someone older than me talks to me not to talk back i still do it, i don't meet people from the internet unless they are connected to a friend of my own that i actully know so i can ask my friend what kind of a person they are if they are a bad person then i won't meet them otherwise i might. I've never been in danger from people on the net because i've never met people from the net and i've never given out personal infomation.

Now there is a debatable question.

MySpace will adopt a series of measures, which will make it harder for adults to send messages to younger teenagers; however I don’t think this will help the problem. The new restrictions will not prevent predatory as Predators will lie about their age when they sign up. The only way to combat this problem is by a verified age limit of 18+.

Responsibility does lies with the parent, but MySpace needs to take responsibility too.

Yes myspace is bad if you've read the newspaper you will know that alot of children that are 13-16 where either molested are just talked to uncomfortably, my brother and sister are on it and they don't even like it I've gotten alot of comments from people that are from there and some say it's okay and some say it's horrible so you can never really know if myspace is evil or just good just I think it's bad! bye!

WHo knows.
Just be sure to never leave any real life contact information for anyone to be able to reach you unless you 100% know them away from myspace. There really are a lot of sick folks out there and you need to be careful

I like MySpace. It allows me to keep in touch with my friends, and see how they are doing, and gives me the freedom to create the page how I want to. It was MEANT to be for the 18+ crowd, but of course the younger ones are going to want to join in. I do believe there should be some sort of restriction put in so that the younger ones can't just automatically sign up.

I don't think it's that bad but it can be to children that are promoting to much information and that parents need to be aware and alert of what their kids are posting if they are allowed to be on that. Even for us adults we need to just be careful and what we put out there and use good judgement. As for stricter rules that is up to the childs parents, guardians, etc.

I dont think there is anything wrong with My Space. Its just any other page just cause in that page you have more of a variety of options. Some abuse it but its reported just like here. I know that my space is a fun productive way to communicate.
