Common plant of the Eastern Shore. Can be found in forests, old fields and along roads. The species name (bona-nox) means good night.

It is a vine like briar. If you run accross it bare footed, possum, you will get the feeling that your leg is being sawed. As the vine kind of wraps around you and keeps biting. It hurts!!
