Can't believe you're typing so well with a badly cut finger…
1. Make sure it's rinsed out well (the outflowing blood will help here).
2. Wrap it up fairly tightly, to stop the bleeding.
3. If you can get the bleeding to stop, gently unwrap it after an hour, after the blood has had a change to coagulate and seal the cut.
4. Change to a clean dressing, wrapped loosely this time.
If you can't get the blood flow to stop or the cut is just very deep so that you think the skin might not line up straight as it heals, you need to go to the emergency room, wait around a few hours, and get some stitches.

playing devils advocate
besides dialing 911 or going to the E.R.
restrict blood flow to the finger, and go eat some meat (iron), if the cut is small but deep you may be able to goto a clinic and have them fix you up (cheaper than ER)
If you have stopped the bleeding and got some big balls you can try applying your own stitches. Or if it isnt too serious and you are a big wuss like me and cant handle the sight of blood which is why you feel dizzy, then once the bleeding is stopped go to wallyworld and buy some butterfly bandages.

you're probably fine. Put pressure on the cut until the bleeding stops. Put some antibacterial ointment (Like Neosporin) on the cuts when you change your bandages. It takes a lot of blood to be lost before you are in serious danger and a lot of people feel faint after seeing their own blood. Lie down. Calm down. Dial 911 only if you've lost a lot of blood (and I'm talking cups of it, not drops). If your fingers become infected you may need to see a doctor. You sound like you're overreacting.

Call 911 or have someone take u to the hospital. For starters, if you're getting dizzy it must have been bleeding bad. You may need blood or something if it was really bad. U probably need stitches and u definitely need a tetanus shot.

Get to the ER but trying buying one of those battery-operated can openers that cut around the edge of the can and doesn't let the lid fall in. It's called the "One Touch⢠Can Opener". You can buy one at www.carolwrightgifts.com or I think even www.qvc.com.
