Luis "Pasture" invented the Pasture. Luis "Pasteur", discovered Pasteurization.

Redie investigated the process of protecting things from their environment to arrest decay, but had nothing to do with Pasteur's discovery of heat-treatment for milk as a mechanism to defer the onset of spoilage.
In later life, Redie lost all his cred when he tried to address his declining health with "magic". He took to greasing himself with holy oils and wearing ribbons that had "touched" the bones of Saint Ranieri.
