Hot Topic sells them, and sometimes places like Spencer will have them also. Unfortunately they are all the regular reddish brown henna, so if your skin has any red in it at all the tattoo won't show. I haven't ever found anywhere that sells the black ones like you'd get on the beach.

I did a project on henna, and unless you have a steady hand, and are good at those kinds of things, you might be better off getting it done by someone who has done them for a long time. I got mine done at like a folk-festival type thing and there were lots of people set up doing them for not a lot of money.

The answer depends on where the tattoo is located: on thinner skin it will fade faster, but on thicker skin, it is both darker and lasts longer. I have had henna last for 6 weeks on my feet, but it was designed to maximize the use of my calloused areas, AND I took care of it with lots of lotion.

I got one from Claire's...it was easy to use and lasted about two weeks before wearing off.
