EVERYTHING in education is established, defined, and implemented by law.
Schools are funded by taxpayers through legislation.
School operations and administrative issues are set by law (class sizes, use of funds, teacher licensure, etc.).
States define academic standards through legislation.
Even the AMOUNT of classroom decoration is limited and defined through state/federal fire codes (no, not researched educational benefit... fire safety).
There isn't a move teachers and administrators make, that isn't controlled in some way by laws and regulations.

haha....it is all legal! the government controls the curriculum in school. that is why you have to take a test "standardized test" in order to graduate high school. Then you get to take another standardized test to get into college. The State Board of Educators are just thinking of another exam as we speak, and the government funds it.

society has expectations of the educational system. just look at the controversy over subjects like sex ed or teaching creationism in class. Every special interest group thinks ITS agenda should be taught.
